We have a charging card included with all cars that’s usually placed in the center armrest (between the front chairs). You can use this card currently with e-mobi, Elektrum and Eleport charging stations. The charging price is included in the rental. Below we have put some helpful links and videos on how to find charging stations and how to use them.
We recommend using the following 2 apps for finding charging stations.
Plugshare is great for finding charging stations all over the world. It shows you what kind of charging station is where and what kind of outlets are available. It doesn’t include all of the Elektrum charging stations in latvia which is why we recommend checking also the Elektrum app if you can’t find suitable charging station at your destination.
ELEKTRUM DRIVE (Apple/Android)
Elektrum Drive is a great app for finding charging stations that are not visible on Plugshare.
Tesla supports 2 charging methods — Type 2 and CCS.
Type 2
Charging speed: up to 11kw on a Tesla Model 3. For a SR+ car it will take around 5h to charge the car from 0 to full while with LR model 3 it will take around 7 hours. Type 2 charging is usually more widely available but oftentimes the charging station doesn’t have a cable that goes in the car attached to it (make sure to check if the charging station has a cable from Plugshare app when picking a charging station). Our cars currently don’t have charging cables included with them so you should keep that in mind.
CCS Fast Charging
This is the best option if you’re looking to charge up your car quickly on the road. Usually the charging speed with CCS ranges between 35-150kw depending on the charging station (you can see the max charging speed from the charging apps). Most of the e-Mobi and Elektrum CCS charging stations charge the car at around 40-50kw which means that you can charge the car full in aprx 1h.
The fast charging speed can also vary depending on the car’s battery temperature, how full it is already (charging from 90%-100% takes much longer than charging from 80%-90%) and other factors.
We will of course be very happy if you leave your car plugged into a charging station at the end of your rental It will help us greatly and ensure that either you or someone else will be able to drive a fully charged Tesla.
